With the past couple of weeks consisting of occasional spikes of cold and snow, it has been an unusually chilly April for Stockholm, but as Swedes often say, “there is no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothing.” According to the Swedish Meteorological Institute, spring has officially arrived when the daily average temperature is above 0°C for seven days in a row.

Even though it may seem otherwise, spring has finally made its way to Stockholm; the flowers are starting to bloom and the sun is beginning to shine. The forecast for the following week looks as though it will only be getting better, reaching temperatures as high as 15°C on Tuesday.

In honour of the new season, we bring you a new photo competition with  pictures from students that show the first signs of spring. Once again, you have the opportunity to vote for the best photo, on our poll. We ask that you vote only once – you need to trick the system to do it more times.  All votes will only be counted once, even if you manage find a way to do it more times.  Let’s show that the students at SIS are principled and give the best photo the chance to win.
