SIS Students: What a Quirky Bunch

Kresimir K. and Aaron C.

Nothing says unity and spirit like matching outfits. Just ask the scouts, the Men in Black or the Blue Man Band. It is not shocking, then, that SIS has a long standing tradition of dressing up every day for a week: spirit week.

As anyone who walked the hallways of the three SIS buildings would notice, SIS students can really show their spirit! Of course, there are always the, “too cool for school” group who give you the unique excuse of “I’m dressed as myself.” However, as the authors of this article observed, the effort, creativity and above all, spirit, that resonated from those were engaged outshone the spoil-sports.

The aim that SIS has in mind is to show the spirit and the imagination that the students have, proving that our school isn’t just an ordinary boring school with a stereotypically stiff classroom environment. SIS is a school that has students from every part of the world and that has different traditions, cultures and personalities, which are expressed through the costumes during Spirit Week. Having students dress up sends a message that the diverse SIS community is united, and enjoys being a part of something together!

The Quirky Quibbler commends everyone that participated, and will now show our picks for the top costumes of the week. Here they are:

Spirit week is a tradition that will be continued and celebrated in SIS for many years to come. The Quirky Quibbler hopes to see just as good costumes next year!
