This week we are continuing our leader series by introducing the woman behind the Diploma Program here at SIS: Mrs. Öman. She may be most know as the school’s DP standard level math teacher and the DP coordinator but now her role has extended to include that of DP vice principal. The Diploma Program covers the last two, hard years of the International Baccalaureate and Mrs.Öman will now be in charge of the program here at our school.

Mrs. Öman is happy about the changes and is excited to broaden her responsibility. Despite all her previous responsibilities as the coordinator she is now also in charge of the daily happenings in the DP. This means that she takes care of everything from the school DP budget, admissions and timetables to student discipline and meetings with the parents. The students of the DP are very happy about this change. One student commented, “It is nice to know that the person taking care of everything that goes into our education really cares about us and knows us”.

“I am happy, as my role of taking care of the DP now feels more well rounded,” said Mrs. Öman as she explained that she now has more opportunities to really develop the school’s Diploma Program.
