The Nepal Project is getting ready for their annual trip to Nepal, and would like to invite you to help out by donating supplies to make a change!
However, firstly what is the Nepal Project? The Nepal Project is a student-led organisation that aims to exchange cultures, traditions and customs with the Nepali people, and help out the local community. The Nepal Project participants learn from each other.
The Nepal Project aims to support the Nepali community by buying bags from a business run by women in Nepal and reselling them here in Stockholm. We also raise funds here through bake sales and walks – the proceeds of which are sent back to the community to help with developments in the Shila Devi school. The Shila Devi school uses these funds to develop its educational quality and to encourage more students to join the school and receive an education.
Members of the Nepal project have the opportunity to take part in an annual trip where SIS students engage with students at the Shila Devi school and at the same time enrich their own cultural knowledge by learning more about the Nepali children’s lives. The group also aims to bring supplies to the community to make their lives a little easier.
This is where we are asking for your help! You can make a small change in a Nepali child’s life by donating any of the following things;
- Art Supplies (only watercolours, chalk, paint brushes, glue sticks, markers, pencils, play dough)
- Educational toys (limited plastic)
- Card games/board games/ Puzzles (full packs)
- Hats (summer or winter)
- Denim Jeans/ Material (for the bag project)
Disclaimer: All of the items donated must be in good condition. This ‘ask for donations’ should not become a dumping ground!
All donations will be greatly appreciated and will put a definite smile on children’s faces! This small donation can lead to a big change in a member of the community’s life.
So, make a change by helping out 🙂
