Day 1:

SIS were up against ISSR in the first game of the tournament. Fortunately, SIS clutched the final goal, scored by Donald S., to tie up the game. With a beautiful bicycle kick the SIS team were able to improve their morale. Drawing nil all  with the Geneva team, they then had a rough game of football against Nice. SIS were on a triple tie, finishing their third game with an outstanding score of 3-3. After playing three long games SIS met Basel’s second team CDL, and unfortunately recorded a loss of 0-2.

Day 2:

The curse of losing seemed to had caught up with the SIS team and putting up a final stand against the other international teams, SIS went 0-3 and 0-4 versus IS Basel and IS Eindhoven. Valiant efforts were made by SIS, but this year it turned out that the other international schools proved to have the better sides.

Final Results:

ISG – 10 points

ISE – 8 points

ISB – 7 points

CDL – 7 points

SIS – 3 points

ISSR – 1 point

You can’t win them all. Unfortunately, SIS did not make it far, but there are more tournaments to come. The Nordic Network will be played next year in April. Let’s hope for SIS to have a comeback!
