Elle S., Reporter

Continuing with our series on the new leadership positions in the school, this week we will profile Mr. Shulte, the new IPC Vice Principal.  The the IPC (International Primary Curriculum) covers kindergarten to grade 5 and Mr. Shulte will be the person looking after this part of the school.

Mr. Shulte is perhaps best known as an MYP science teacher. The Australian teacher worked here once before, and left to travel before returning to SIS at the beginning of this school year. With his new role, science teaching will take up 50% of his time, and the rest will be devoted to the role of Vice Principal.

As the new IPC Vice Principal, he looks after budget and timetables in the primary school in order to support teachers. Mr. Shulte also takes part in helping enrolment of new students. Mr. Shulte is “excited and challenged”; and is so far “enjoying the steep learning curve”. He has significantly noticed how much he is “enjoying to learn everyday”.

It has only been a short period of time since he acquired his new position. Mr. Shulte awaits for the new, future challenges; as he believes that they will make him a well rounded and balanced person. He is thrilled to take on the task of running the primary school, as well as “bettering a school, rather than simply bettering a classroom”.
