Grade 9 has a Night Under the Stars
On Friday the very first 9th grade formal took place. A night filled with food, dance, activities and much more. A great success and a great way to end the year and say goodbye to many of our students!
With the auditorium transformed fit to a night under the stars, the Formal started with a mingle before everybody sat down to have dinner, a three course meal. This included a mozzarella & tomato salad with garlic bread, beef fillet with pesto pasta as well a a heart shaped chocolate cake with a raspberry sauce.
Throughout the night everybody in the room had a personal activity to be done at a certain time, which led to numerous entertaining happenings throughout the night! For example holding a speech dedicated to someone in the room. To round off the the dinner, teams competed for the prestigious prize for winner of the music quiz.
It is fair to say the night was a great success with students leaving with smiles on their faces. “I think it was one of, if not the best event we’ve had as a grade this year!” said Isabella A. Perhaps this is the beginning of a new tradition at SIS.
A special thank you to Ms. McCrea, the chaperones, the PTA, the 8th grade servers, all the parents who helped with the set up and the formal committee for making this possible.
