Stockholm Cafés: Café VeteKatten
Kungsgatan 55,
111 22 Stockholm
Types of foods:
Vetekatten serves proper lunch meals, such as soups and pies, but they mainly sell pastries and sandwiches. The food was displayed with care, and everything looked fresh and tasty.
Food:
Anna: Sandwich (top plate, 84 kr – with tea or coffee included) 4/5
Emika: Sandwich (bottom plate, 35 kr) 3/5
Atmosphere:
The café was roomy but the noise echoed. Therefore the café was quite noisy, and the room we sat in was not particularly cozy. Other than the loud noise, the atmosphere was cheerful. The lighting was also really nice. The center was well lit, and the surroundings were mostly lit by the sunlight coming from the large windows.
Individual thoughts:
Anna: I liked this café. The food I ate was very tasty, and I appreciated that they had vegetarian options for me. I was happily surprised that the sandwich included a drink; otherwise I would have thought the food was well overpriced. The staff was very kind and helpful when I was looking for a
knife and fork, and the café was clean and organized. However, it lacked in coziness and therefore it was not that nice to sit in the sitting room area. I recommend going to this place, especially for the pastries.
Emika: I liked the café in general. The food was fairly good and was at a good price. The atmosphere, architecture, etc were nice as well, and the staff was warm and welcoming. The only problem was that it was loud as the sound echoed throughout the room, which caused the café to lack in coziness. However, I still recommend this place, especially for the food, and if the noise is bothering you, there is the option to takeaway the food.
Overall score: 3/5
