This transfer window started with a big question: “Where is Cristiano Ronaldo going to play?” It seems that he and his agent looked everywhere, they even asked Eintracht Frankfurt if they were interested in the five-time Ballon D’Or winner. They weren’t. With no other choice, the Portuguese football star signed a million dollar contract with the Saudi club Al-Nasr.

There was another Portuguese player that was the protagonist of a big move. After rumours of returning to Benfica, João Félix was leased to Chelsea.  There is much anticipation about how the player will perform in the Premier League.

Cody Gakpo, the former PSV player now playing for Liverpool is also a big bet. Everybody has high expectations for the player.

A transfer that may be overlooked, though, is that of the young Norwegian player Andreas Schjelderup. The eighteen year old moved to SL Benfica for €9 million from the small team Nordsjaelland, but this youngster is one of the major revelations of European football. It wouldn’t be surprising if, a year from now everybody will know his name, as Benfica is still a significant player developer.
