YGFooty
YGFooty is a Youtube channel about two young potential football players.
Our names are Yarrid (myself) and Giovanni (my friend). We both go to Stockholm International School and we are currently studying in 11th grade. The Youtube channel is not just about football, we try to make every video like a new experience. The genres of our videos range from comedy to drama to action, and in every video we try to have a storyline.
We started this channel because we are both extremely addicted to playing football and we wanted to come up with a fun way to master certain tricks and skills, including the “Around the World”, “stepovers”, the “sombrero”, the “Neymar Rocket”, the “Neymar Flick” and many more.
Giovanni comes from Namibia and moved to Sweden in 2013/2014. He is more like a flair footballer; Giovanni is a quick, versatile, right footed player who can play attacking roles such as left/right wing, hold the game together in central midfield, play as a striker or play in the creative role right behind the strikers. As a young footballer, Giovanni has always looked up to players such as Zinedine Zidane and Didier Drogba which comes as no surprise, since he supports London club, Chelsea FC.
I come from Holland and moved to Sweden in 2012. I have been playing football my entire life and have always played in the top divisions. I am really a field player, but am now trying to master certain tricks. My position is attacking midfield so that I get the ball a lot. My specialities are stepovers and dribbling. My role models are Lionel Messi because of his dribbling skills and how fast he is with the ball which also doesn’t come as a surprise, since I support the club FC Barcelona.
The director of YGFooty is Victor Tapia Mendoza who also is studying at SIS and is in 11th grade. For an IB subject, Victor takes film and he wants to be a director in the future. We mostly try to have our own music in our videos and we therefore have a special music producer (Boaz van der Vlugt) for it, since copyrights makes it pretty difficult to use others’ music.
The goal of this channel is to make fun and good quality videos, but is also make every video like it is a spectacular short movie. YGFooty tries to upload around one video a month due to other activities and the busy IB Diploma Program. We will continue the Youtube channel until the end of 12th grade and who knows what will happen to the channel after that.
