Freedom
Inspired by Still I Rise by Maya Angelou
You may bomb our cities, tear our land apart,
But still, Ukraine rises, with a beating heart
Through smoke and fire, we stand proud and strong,
For freedom, we’ll proudly stand tall.
From Lviv’s culture to Crimea’s shore
we fight for peace, for eternity.
Though tanks may roll, bullets may fly,
Our spirits soar up in the sky.
You may try to silence our voices, our cries,
But still, Ukraine rises, with hope in our eyes.
With every sunrise, a new day begins,
And within ourselves, the flame never dims.
Though our hearts may ache for the ones we’ve lost
Still, Ukraine rises, no matter the cost.
Their memories fuel us, their voices inspire,
To stand up for human rights, to reach even higher.
You may think you won, but you are wrong,
For still, Ukraine rises, with resilience strong.
With hope in our hearts and faith in our land,
We’ll, forge a future where peace takes a stand.
For we as a nation, proud and free,
No oppressor hand can ever decree.
The end of our dreams, our hopes, our fight,
For still Ukraine rises in the darkest nightmare.
So hear our anthem loud and clear,
We’ll never surrender, never fear.
For still in the adversity we’ll always strive,
For still Ukraine rises, we’ll keep our dreams alive.
