The SIS House Committee will be hosting a Dodgeball competition, and we are inviting you all to join!!! 

Look at the program below for the designated time slots for your grade.

Tuesday 17th September

Grade 8 and 9 first game starting at 12pm in the gym

Friday 20th September

Grade 6 and 7 first game starting at 12:45pm in the gym

Tuesday 24th September

Grade 10 to 12 qualifiers first game starting at 13:15 in the gym

Wednesday 25th September

Grade 10 to 12 final 13:15 in the gym

Do you want to join but don’t know how to play? Don’t worry, read through the rules below!

• 1 house will play another house. The winner advances to the final.
• There is no limit to the number of players. The more players you have, the more players the other team has to remove.
• You are out if you are hit on any body part below the shoulders. Hands can not protect you unless you catch the ball. The ball must have hit you without bouncing.
• You can not use a ball to shield/block a throw
• No head shots (you can not intentionally use your head to block a ball, if you lower your head below the height of your shoulders it is not considered a headshot) A head shot results in the thrower being out of the game (can not come back in), and 3 players from the person who got hit can return to the game.
• You can hold a ball for 10 seconds. (referees discretion). You have 1 warning then it is considered a live ball.
• A catch results in the thrower being out, and a player from the team that caught the ball coming in. The player next in must have been the earliest player out. Any player who jumps the line will be allowed to rejoin the game. A catch can be caught by another player, thus saving them from elimination, but a catch can not be made of the roof/wall/floor.
• If multiple players are hit with one throw, and the ball has not hit the ground, all players who were hit are out.
• After 10 minutes, if a team has not won, the team with the most people left on the court will be declared the winner. (the final will continue until there is a winner, or lunch is ending).

You cannot  wear outdoor shoes – you may bring indoor shoes, or play barefoot!!
