Varun G. Is one of the most experienced MUN students as he has been a part of the MUN team for 4 years, however this year, it’s his first year as Head Chair. 

Maude A.: Ok, what is your role?

Varun G.: I’m head chair of DISEC 1.

Maude A.: Super, how is it going so far?

Varun G.: I think it’s going pretty well, I just gave in the nominations for the best delegates alongside the other chair. It was quite hard actually, because everyone is so good, everyone is debating a lot and I am really happy that I have such a lively committee. 

Maude A.: Perfect, what are you in charge of?

Varun G.: I’m the chair, as I just said, so I have to make sure that the debate is going well and also give out the nominations for the best delegate and overall, that the debate is going well. 

Maude A.: So what have the highlights been so far? 

Varun G.: So, the delegate of Germany, I think that he should get a ‘yapping award’ because the delegate has talked a lot, which is really good, they have said a lot of good points. I also think that the delegate of Germany, both of them being in the committee, has brought in a lot of ‘spice’ in the debate I would say because they have such good opposing points to each other. These moments were really the highlights so far.

Maude A.: Okay, so what do you think will happen next? 

Varun G.: I hope for a really good resolution at the end, we are going to start the caucus in like 5 minutes now, so I’m hoping for the best.
