Before his latest competition, Yebum had already advanced through the preliminary rounds of the Swedish School math competition, earning a place in the finals. He then completed an online course that required participants to solve and submit problem sets by specific deadlines. By successfully completing this course, he received an invitation, placing him among the top 20 math students in Sweden.
Following the invitation, Yebum embarked on an arduous period of preparation. With the collaboration of 4 other competitors they spent some days in prior studying and revising, through past paper questions. On the 25th, Yebum competed in the competition held in Lund, a four part challenge featuring Sweden’s top 20 student mathematicians.
Reflecting on the experience, Yebum described it both as interesting and enriching. He found it rewarding to engage with others who shared the same interest in mathematics, learning various things from his fellow competitors. Looking ahead, he hopes to participate in more challenging competitions while creating fun experiences for himself.
Without a doubt, Yebum Choi’s performance highlights his dedication and growth in mathematics – let’s hope to see his further development!
