Last Friday, the 23rd of May, the 9th grade Swedish B classes visited the National Museum located in Södra Blasieholmshamnen 2, 111 48 Stockholm. The National Museum is the national gallery of fine arts of Sweden. Our Swedish B class was able to see art from the 16th century to today’s modern art. In the modern art section, our class was able to see Ernst Billgren’s exhibition. His artworks were a combination of traditional and historical motifs portrayed with pop culture references. One specific painting to remember was Billgren’s spin on the well-known Bringing Home the Body of King Karl XII of Sweden. It was a great afternoon at the National Museum.
