SIS started this academic year with our newly appointed lunch caterer Hello Fraiche.

Since the beginning of the term, this change in lunch caterer has sparked quite some conversation – with varying opinions from both the students and the staff. To gain some clarity on the situation, and a general understanding of Hello Fraiche’s reputation and quality so far, Quirky Quibbler asked our kitchen team leader, Wandi, for her opinion.

Wandi’s reaction to the new caterer is joy. She said students constantly come to tell her how ‘fantastic’ the new food is, which, to her, is the most important factor, and has convinced her about the quality of the new caterer. Whilst she does not eat from the caterers herself, she said that the school lunch also looks very great, and that she is very pleased with what they have presented these last few weeks. 

Additionally, after noticing the student’s responses to some of the food, she also realised that fish day – a day where much food would often end up untouched – is becoming much more popular amongst students, with many students excited to try, and even coming back for seconds!

That being said, after hearing Wandi’s interesting thoughts about the new caterer so far, it can be surmised that Hello Fraiche is off to a great start.

But will it be good enough to stay for 2026-27?
