What’s new at Norra Latin?

Our school is undergoing some exciting changes that will enhance the learning environment for everyone. One major update is the completion of our new auditorium, or “Aula” as it’s known in Swedish. The first event to be held in the auditorium will be the graduation ceremony. Additionally, next year, the final IB exams will take place in the auditorium, providing students with a more spacious and comfortable environment for their exams.

Another exciting addition to our school is the outer space games area located at the back of the school. This fenced area will provide students with a designated space for outdoor activities and games.

In terms of facilities, our gym is already in use, and more equipment will be added and completed by next school year. Ms. Louriero, who is in charge of these developments, recently consulted with MYP students to gather feedback on further improvements. The students expressed the need for a private or a quiet room where they can work silently. In response, plans are underway to create such a space. Additionally, there will be improvements to the furniture, creating more opportunities for students to sit together, engage, and enjoy conversations with their friends. She is also meeting with the plan designer to make the school greener by adding more plants.

When asked about her experience working on these school improvements since June 2022, Ms. Louriero said, “This school was completely destroyed, and rebuilding it wasn’t an easy task. It was intense, but now it’s extremely rewarding to see you guys here, walking around.”

Although there’s still some work to be done, Ms. Louriero assures us that everything will be completed by the next school year. These improvements will undoubtedly enhance our school environment and make it an even better place for learning and growth.
