Starting off MUN day, SIS embraces a formal atmosphere, with the exchange of rebuttals, formation of alliances, and coherent discussions. After the opening speeches of the delegates in the DISEC committee, they all proceed to discuss the moderated caucus, delving into sub topics of cyber security, for example DISEC 3 covered the topic: ethics of autonomous cyber weapons.
Amidst the DISEC committee is a unique ambience, where delegates are eager and determined to engage in debates, also fostering a diplomatic setting in SIS. Although some are not as familiar with the formalities of MUN compared to others, delegates have been actively contributing to discussions, broadcasting their own opinions, thoughts and resolutions.
When strolling through the crowds of people during breaks, we heard positive feedback from MUN, with delegates displaying their gratitude and appreciation for MUN day.
The delegation of Sweden and the United States of America of DISEC 3 proposed their views and general impressions of MUN.
“I think it’s been a great day, amazingly organised, and it is a great opportunity to show who SIS is and what SIS is all about, undoubtedly it is one of my favorite events, I love it” – Delegate of Sweden
“I personally think it’s a significant day, I have longed for MUN day since grade 2. MUN is culturally significant to SIS, it plays a big role for me and I think I am doing well by actively participating in the discussions.” – Delegation of the United States of America
