Clean up Sweden. This Weekend!

Got some free time on Saturday! Emry P. from the Roots and Shoots group, has a great suggestion to keep you busy and keep Sweden tidy.

On September 16 from 2:00 – 4:00 at Humlegården, Roots and Shoots is organising its annual International Clean-up. A wonderful opportunity to involve yourself in our school community and participate in an event beneficial for the environment.

World Clean-up Day is when the organisation Keep Sweden Tidy launches into action. All across Sweden, millions of people sign up every year for the country-wide litter pickup. As well as litter pick-up, refreshments – Swedish ‘fika’ – will be provided, and all the materials needed to participate in the clean-up. All that is needed is correct clothing for the weather that day and for students under 5th grade a guardian must accompany them.

When faced with the struggle of global warming, deforestation, and quality of water all across the globe, it is easy to feel overwhelmed. Maybe useless in the movement for a better world, but this is something all can do. A local clean-up is a small act in a bigger movement. If you want to participate in Roots and Shoots International Clean-up please sign up on this form.
