The Iconic Game In A New Version.

Bruno R, tech reporter reviews EA Sports FC 24. This is for all you FIFA gamers out there.
The POV of the Referee
Bruno R

June 28, 2023, will be remembered by many fans of the EA’s football/soccer game video series. For the first time since 1993 (when the first game of a FIFA game series, FIFA International Soccer, was presented), the newest generation of this cult game series will be known not as FIFA 24, but as EA Sports FC 24 (in short: EAFC 24). After spending the first hours in the game, I want to share with you my first impression and observations of FIFAEAFC 24.

New Name, Good Old Formula

Start Page (Bruno R)

The shift in name resulted in the question of what else would be different in EA Sports FC than in FIFA.

For me, as a FIFA 23 player, there was a significant difference in the start page. Instead of tiles on the screen with the game options, all the game modes are listed on the left side of the screen. However, I felt relieved when I recognized the modes, such as Quick Game, Ultimate Team, Career Mode, and Volta Football.

In my opinion, the new interface looks smoother, and less overwhelming, however for the gamers being used to FIFA 23 and older generations, it could take some time to get used to the home page layout.

New Camera Perspectives

The POV of the Referee (Bruno R.)

When it comes to the gameplay itself, it looks pretty much the same way as in the previous FIFA editions. However, what EA was thinking of was to come up with the new camera angles.

For example, when the footballer is supposed to receive a yellow or red card, or the referee is marking the spot from which a free kick will be taken, we can see on the screen the referee’s point of view.

Also, between the match’s halves and after the end of the match, we can take a look at the players being either in the exit corridor to the pitch or in the dressing room.

I would interpret those additions as a creative way to improve the game’s dynamics.

FIFAFootball Ultimate Team – The Same, But…

In the last part of this review, I’ll concentrate on one of the most popular game modes of FIFA/EAFC – FUT, which because of the change in the game’s name is now just called Football Ultimate Team instead of FIFA Ultimate Team, like before.

When it comes to changes, the rules are being kept the same. Mainly the visual elements are being modified.

However, there’s one new element in FUT about which everyone is talking about.

Women have been added to this game mode. Now they can come out of the player packs, with the same frequency as men, and play in a squad, together with male players.

Final Summary – Is It Worth Buying EA Sports FC 24?

If you’ve already played FIFA 23 or older before – you’ll like this game as it’s nothing else than just the evolution of the well-known EA football/soccer game series.

However, if you didn’t like the FIFA game series before, there’s a huge probability, that for the same reason(s), you won’t like this game.
