Better Call Saul

Better Call Saul

Creator: Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould

Starring: Bob Odenkirk

 February 2015 – Present

Does anyone remember “Breaking Bad”? That hit TV series that had won so many awards for best TV show of the year? Well if you haven’t seen it, then I suggest you do that now, because an article is not required to stress how good of a show it is. However, for “Breaking Bad” fans, “Better Call Saul” is a spin-off series that focuses on the life of Walter White and Jesse Pinkman’s attorney, Saul Goodman. The events of this series take place before the “Breaking Bad” era and explore Saul’s past as a lawyer. Considering the show’s creator is the same as the one that made “Breaking Bad”, the eerie and intensive vibe of “Breaking Bad” transfers on to “Better Call Saul”.

The Plot: In the past, Jimmy McGill is Saul Goodman’s real name. He is a struggling attorney with no consistent income that lives under his brother’s roof. He is in charge of most cases concerning people that do not have attorneys and is paid through the judicial department. However, Jimmy McGill is a smart thinker and a dirty lawyer, and goes to extreme measures to get money.

Although the show has no real advancement in plot yet (considering it just came out), it already gives a good portrayal of Saul Goodman’s former life, and starts to look into the small factors that made him turn into a drug lawyer.

If you’re a “Breaking Bad” fan, it’s a must. And if you aren’t, then I propose watching “Breaking Bad” first and then “Better Call Saul”.
