After a healthy and calm debate on global terms, the conference on OPG 6 is currently attempting to reach to an agreement through a resolution. Most of the points present are preemptive approaches such as “regulating the prescription of opioids” and adopting “an early warning sign” to prevent addiction. To assist current addicts, the resolution “encourages that all nations take a more rehabilitative route.”

The delegation of the Chinese Popular Republic pushed for death penalty to all drug dealers, a proposition heavily opposed by France, Argentina, and Germany. The countries may reach to a compromise if the Chinese delegate accepts to trade the death penalty for increased surveillance in hospitals and a harsher and less tolerant “police control” over customs.
