Important conversations occurred in room 313 about Diet and Digestions. Sugar tax was the main topic of discussion. The room was split, believing that sugar tax is not the answer to improving diet as it would only lead to more poverty. It was argued that it was not economically stable and the discussion veered into obesity in school.

It was debated whether the solution for obesity in schools was education or fixing the food served at the schools. It was requested that schools change the food served to contain less sugar and that students be educated on healthy eating in primary school. However, some felt that it was excessive and ineffective to create those drastic of changes in the early years of primary school. The question delegates had to settle was if the solution for student obesity was in the food served or in the education offered. While no exact compromise was met, it was somewhat settled that the food offered should become healthier and the education for healthy eating should start in high school.
