With the pressing topic of climate change as the subject of debate, they have concluded the importance of global collaboration and effective strategies for coping. Things like carbon tax, and funding and resource distribution between nations of the world are evidently demonstrated on the resolution placards.
In room 314, the committee is doing focused and effective work with the two final resolutions the class of 6B have concluded on. There are two different teams, or groups of nations with aligning goals coming together to combat the looming issue of climate change. Victoria M. and Annika O. have been helpful hands in this process, and it is clear that they have chaired the students well.
Currently 7P in room 253 are going through the (long) list of punishments, with over half of the class dancing around in the center of the room – a quite chaotic scene. However this does not mean that they have been lazy. On the other hand, they have also completed their work for the day with the outcome of “artistic” representations of the resolutions.
Just because the posters are less formal ways of showing the day’s debate finale, it doesn’t mean less thought goes into it. Checklists of the genres of points to make and a clear display of the delegations responsibilities were prevalent, showing how the younger students are able to engage with also more complex matters of learning.
Having seen more activity in committee sessions today than in previous years, there is a positive trajectory of where the school event can go in future years.
At 14:55 the posters will be there for all to see, so make sure you get a look at what they have done. Great job to the youngest of SIS’s academics!
